UFO Lands on Washington Village Green –
Aliens Book Hall for “Intergalactic Bake Off”

Residents of Wasa were left stunned last Friday when what appeared to be a flying saucer made a gentle landing on the village green… and its occupants politely enquired about hiring Wasa Village Hall.
Eyewitnesses say the visitors, described as “glowing, polite, and slightly obsessed with Victoria sponge,” arrived shortly after 3pm and immediately asked for the availability of the main hall and kitchen facilities.
“They were very interested in our new oven and asked if it was fan-assisted,” said Janet Wilkinson, chair of the Hall Committee. “One of them even had a clipboard.”

The extraterrestrials, who call themselves “The Crumbleons,” explained they were touring small Earth villages in search of the galaxy’s finest fruit crumbles. Naturally, they decided Wasa would be the perfect place for their first-ever Intergalactic Bake Off.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 12th July at 4pm, and all villagers are invited to attend – human or otherwise. Entry is free, though donations of rhubarb and custard are welcome.

Children’s activities will include “Decorate Your Own Moon Biscuit” and a “Guess the Jellybean Count (in Lightyears)” contest.
Tea, coffee, and stardust scones will be served throughout the afternoon.
“We’re thrilled to host our first interplanetary guests,” said Tony Beech, bookings officer. “It just goes to show – no matter how far you’ve travelled, you’re always welcome at Wasa Hall.”
