Washington Village Memorial Hall is holding its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 22nd July 2026 at 7.30pm in the Doré Room of the Hall, and every member of our community is invited.
The Washington Village Memorial Hall Charity (Charity No: 278148) relies on local people getting involved, and the AGM is the one evening a year set aside for exactly that. It’s a chance to hear how the Hall has been doing, have your say, and help shape what comes next.
What’s on the agenda
The meeting has two main purposes:
To receive the Trustee Board’s report and statement of accounts for the preceding year, giving everyone a clear picture of how the Hall has been run and managed.
To elect the Elected Members of the Washington Village Memorial Hall Trustee Board, which is where local residents can step forward to help guide the Hall’s future.
Who can come along
The meeting is open to all inhabitants of the parish of Washington and the surrounding neighbourhood, aged 18 and over. You don’t need to be a regular hall user or already involved with Wasahall to attend, just an interest in your community is enough.
Why it matters
The Hall’s committee is asking three simple questions of everyone in the parish:
Do you think the Village Hall is a valuable part of the community? Do you have an interest in its future? Are you prepared to contribute?
If the answer to any of these is yes, this is your invitation to show it. Village halls like ours run on the time, energy, and goodwill of local people, and the AGM is where that support turns into action, whether that’s standing for the Trustee Board, asking a question about the accounts, or simply showing up to be counted.
